Im hoping to really get started on my '78 over the christmas holliday. I was wondering if anyone had any measurements for a body dolly. I guess Id need
two really, one for the cab and one for the bed.

I built one similar to this one while working on a previous corvette project, and I assumed something like this would be very helpful for our trucks as well. So of anyone has one, Id like to see how you put it together. Ideally, Id have one for the cab, one for the bed, and put the chassis (with wheels on) on casters. Anyhow, lets see what folks have.

It is a set of plans for the dolly, you can PM mbgmike or rokcrln for more info. I would imagine it's a little cost prohibitive to ship something like that for most folks.

Actually, I did search in the 73-87 section. I orriginally posted this thread there. I figured that would be the most appropriate place, considering what I was looking for. Apparently the mods thought it would this thread would be more applicable here. Meh, whatever they want is fine by me. Anyhow, in my search of that section of the forum I didnt find quite what I was looking for. Thanks for the link though. My orriginal thought was for a simple wooden body dolly to make storage and movement a little easier. That one you posted doesnt seem like it would take that much more work to build than what I had in mind, but it would be little more functional.

Look into rokcrln (spelling?) for his tip and flip cab dolly. This will make your rebuild a lot easier.

We built a dolly for Luv2xclr8's blazer body. Just 2x4's and casters from Tractor Supply. Maybe he will post some pics of it.

I used a wood pallet to hold my cab up. I took 2x6's and posted down to a lower frame and mounted casters to move it around. It worked out very well, never had any issues. I don't have the dimensions of the skid at the moment, but can get them. The skid was too skinny for my step bed, had to put 2x4's across the top of it to hold the bed up. Still worked out well. Here is a pic of the cab. We put the fenders and hood on for paint, but they are just hanging out there.
