Rear disc brakes
 

I am cutting out impala bracket next week. But I was wondering if any one has dimensions for the camaro caliper bracket. I would like to make my pickup street legal. In addition to that question I was wondering if any one had has used Newer, better technology off something like a 200? monte impala vette or another gm car or truck. Even info on setups that would or did not work could be useful to me or somebody else.

I don't normally modify OE brake components to fit my applications. If I do use OE/factory components, I make sure to use the parts for that specific brake applicaiton. In the past, I've found it just as expensive (sometimes more expensive) to use OE parts from various places and vehicles than purchasing a disc brake kit from one of the many manufacturers, such as Master Power, SSBC, Willwood, etc. Here is what I'm using on the back of my '63 project. This might be a little extreme for some, but I've never had any problems with Wilwood or Mark Williams brake systems.

Vin I understand what you are saying. One of my concerns is getting a long way from home and needing parts I would think you could get down faster if you could just get the parts from the nearest parts store.

OK, so I have a friend with a 73 Nova (absolutely stunning I might add) who is also a member of the forum (jmedero) and did a rear disc swap from a late 90's ss or Z-28 Camaro on the rear...basically all OEM, but as long as you have a 10 bolt rear, everything will bolt up beautifully, and the only thing you have to do is fab a couple bracets for the e brake and brake lines....look him Im sure he would help you out!
