i have 7 is that right some one told me i should only have 4

I have a 86 swb body on a 77 frame and it also has 7 leafs. I was told it dont matter. I want to drop it eventually.

it depends on how many you want from 1 to over 10 leafs more leafs mean more weight it can haul but rough ride unless there weight in the bed, less leafs better ride less weight it can haul

Mine came with 8 springs, now down to 4, the spring pack was a option, mine was G50 HD RR spring, part of the heavy half set up.

There are 52" and 56" springs. The longer the leafs, the heavier duty they are. Leaf count can range from 4 to 8 for 1/2 tons, depending on how the truck was ordered new.
