Thinking of trading
Been thinking about trading my 67 for this. What do you guys think??
1972 2WD BLAZER - $20000 This is a true 2wd factory A/C Blazer. Ground up build with all the right parts. Scotts Hot Rods front suspension with power rack & pinion, tubular A-arms, and air ride. New Dutchman 9" Ford rearend with Tri-angulated 4 bar, Strange aluminum 31 spline trac-loc,Bear disc brakes, and Air Ride Shockwaves. Stainless brake lines. Everything is powder coated. 17x11 Billet Specilites with BFG G-Force tires. Body has been media blasted. New bumpers, grill, stainless steering column, core support, inner fenders, gauges, trim, and much more. All the work that is done is very high quality. If you have ever built from the ground up, you can appreciate the labor and the cost to do it right. 30k invested just in parts with no labor. |

Here is my 67

Re: Thinking of trading
Tough decision as both vehicles are definitely sweet. The only downside I can see is that the blazer appears to still need paint and work put into it. Your '67 is dressed and ready to go out on the town.
I'm glad I don't have to make this decision... :D Keep us posted! |
Re: Thinking of trading
no engine with it. he built a 598 BBC he is also selling for over 20,000.
|
Re: Thinking of trading
I wouldn't do that trade....nothing better than a sharp '67!
|
Re: Thinking of trading
Do you have any more info? Does that blazer come just as shown? No fenders or grille? You said no engine, is the engine from your truck going with your truck, or are you keeping it and putting it in the blazer?
If the Blazer is just as it looks, and with no engine, I think they are asking too much. I think your truck is worth a fair amount more. If you can trade your truck and get the Blazer and cash then I would consider it. |
Re: Thinking of trading
I am pretty sure the Blazer belongs to the father of someone that frequents the 73-87 side but I can't recall his name.
|
Re: Thinking of trading
They are both cool, but I like the truck better.

Re: Thinking of trading
Don't do it--keep the 67.

Re: Thinking of trading
Being a blazer guy.. I say do it!!
|
Re: Thinking of trading
Not sure...keep the 67.

Re: Thinking of trading
I've been wanting a blazer for the longest time, but If I were in your shoes
I wouldnt trade for that particular blazer, your 67 seems in much more better shape :m3: |
Re: Thinking of trading
We can sit on this side of our computer screens and express our opinions about what WE think you should do, but being that I am partial to going "topless".
In my opinion, that Blazer could be a 2-dr phaeton, with a little imagination. Just think, a full soft top, with side irons, small back window and so forth. You'd have to make it a modern take on the phaeton concept, but you get my drift. Now, should you trade? That's not a decision that I feel qualified to make. Only you can know what you should do, or not do. It certainly is intriguing. |
Re: Thinking of trading
I think i would keep the 67. It drives. it looks good.

Re: Thinking of trading
Tough call.......lot a variables only you know.
How much do you really think you could sell your 67 for? How much time and money will it really take to finish that Blazer?....bigger ticket items that immediately come to mind (body/paint, interior, drivetrain). How bad do you really want a Blazer?....I know I'd love to have one, but you can't let that skew any rationality. Looks like it could be definately be a trick ride when complete....I know I would be tempted. That said, I think he's a little heavy on price for an unfinished project. To me it would be more attractive if it had a good motor/tranny combo included with it. I know it would be hard to resist for me, cuz who doesn't like a new project and for that matter, one that could be an incredibly nice ride when finished. Good luck! |
Re: Thinking of trading
I am going to pass on it. i have a lot of time and money in my rig and it would be like starting over with that blazer. If it drove like mine i would do it.

Re: Thinking of trading
That woulda been a really nice blazer when completed

Re: Thinking of trading
That blazer has the potential to be a show winner but at 20g it's going to take a LOT more $ to get it there. I remember that truck. A member's dad owns it out Oregon or Washington way I think. Baby Blue or Baby Blue Oval or something like that who frequented the 73-87 forum.
