How many hours labor would you estimate?
First off I apologize for asking so many questions about converting lwb to swb, I just want to make sure I have all the necessary info before I start.
For those that have done the converstion, how many hours did you have in doing just the frame work? I'm getting estimates that are from $400-$1200 (hourly rates are pretty close), how can the hourly estimates be that different? Anybody know a good shop in the Denver area or within a couple hour drive? |
Re: How many hours labor would you estimate?
I have about 10 hours in mine so far. that includes pulling the bed and gas tanks, laying out the cuts, cutting the frame, squaring everything up, and welding it back together. all i have left to do on the frame is make some fish plates and i think i may go ahead and box the section that was shortened.
I figure another 5 hours or so |

Wow, I didnt think there would be that many hours involved in shortening the frame. I'll be pullng the bed myself to save an hour or two labor. Thank you for the info, I appreciate it |
