Keep it or cut it??

Recently drug in a 71 suburban that I bought to get the engine. It has what I thought was aftermarket overhead air. But the glove box tag list the A/C and power steering and power brakes etc as factory. It's just a 2wd 1/2 ton, But it's also a big block auto truck. Cab mounts are very solid but it needs rockers. My question is whether I should jerk out the 396/402(whichever it is), or is it hard to find a big block 2wd factory air truck?

IMO.... if they are fairly rust free, break out your check book and be prepared to pay. If you're not limiting your search to strictly a SWB, and would opt for a LWB, your chances are higher at finding a nicely priced, optioned truck for a good price. It sounds like the Burb has some nice options on it.

Post some pics of the Burb, and we'll take a better look.

Keep It... <content removed by mod>... If it's in decent shape & factory BB w/air it's worth putting the money into. How about some pics?

neo... lets not turn this into a parts thread... this is the wrong section, and you are a non subscribed member, and not permitted to request parts.
As for the original post... welocm to the board!
Your description is lacking a lot of info as far as keep it or part it out. Burbs are becoming more and more popular... but in all reality, you could pull the 402 (396's were done at the end of '69) and stab in some crappy small block and sell the rrest of the truck off as a driver, and porbably recoup most, if not all, the money you spent. Then you have a FREE big block.
