Master cylinder question...
So, I'm close to doing the whole rear-end/fivelug/lowering/disc conversion on my '66 Burb.
Naturally, I'm going to lose my single master cylinder in favor of a dual, with a proportioning valve. Here's the question: My '66 is already power-assisted. Can I just replace the single master cylinder, and if so what year dual do I use? Or do I have to replace the entire booster and master cylinder assembly with something '72 and up? |
Re: Master cylinder question...
A 72-up dual chamber master cylinder will work with your factory power brake booster.

'71-'72 will work as a strictly "bolt-on"
some time later they changed and would no longer work with the stock booster.. just looked at a '73, they won't work here is the pic, notice it doesn't have the same deep recess as the '71-'72 http://www.autozone.com/images/produ...nnm1521003.jpg the '73-up style is what was on my truck before i swapped and it wouldn't work with the booster here is mine Attachment 416851 it is for a '71, got it from Auto-Zone $38 for new, not reman LINKY http://www.autozone.com/images/produ...nnm1494003.jpg |
