Heater Plug & Blower ?'s
 

OK Im in the process of removing the old aftermarket A/C system on my truck and going to just heat (for now atleast).

#1 Where to find plug?
I have a non-A/C control panel in my truck, but I do not have the plug that plugs in behind the blower switch. Where can I find one? I have checked the dealer and they are discontinued. I need this plug so I can use my blower. Anyone know where to find original or aftermarket? I would like to be able to plug it and un plug it when getting into the dash (like stock / no riggin right now).

Does the blower help to heat the cab? Right now I dont have the blower working so Im curious if it will heat faster. It took 4 miles (1/2 way to work :)) for the front windshield to start defrosting. Im going to start parking in the garage and eliminate that problem, but how much does the fan help? Just curious.

I NEED THAT PLUG!!! HELP!!!

Someone has to know something. Come on guys where can I find that plug? If it comes down to it, Ill get one from a junk yard. But I would really like to have a new one.

Eddie, I've looked everywhere and can't find one new. Salvage yard would be your best bet. However, you may try a GM parts counter. You'd be suprised sometimes and what they carry.

Every time I touch an electrical connector on my truck, it breaks. My experience has been that they can get them, but they have to go to a little extra trouble. If they look it up as part of the harness specific to the particular component, they will tell you they no longer carry it. If you know what it looks like, they have a catalog of just connectors that they can use to match up visually.

Be prpared to pay a lot for it, though. The connector for the lockup convertor on my TH-350 cost me $27.

Ill try another dealer. I do believe that he tried looking it up one way. Then tried finding it under harness or part of harness. Something along those line. Ill try another dealer and see what they say.

I just dont want to get an old one that has some damage and cause me even more problems down the road.

Slonaker I know what you mean, its unbelievable how much they get for some of those parts. But hey at least we dont have a car payment!

If you want the heat to do any thing you need the blower motor , especially for the defrosters to clear the windshield . Any of the pull-ur- own parts yards will have one for $1.00 admission and $1.00 for the connector.
