Repro Lower Control Arms.

Hi all

I was wondering if there were any repro lower control arms for our trucks,or if it was a dealer item only?I would rather not get a junkyard find.

I noticed my left front shock was not doing its job after a rather rough railroad track crossing.Found out that it ripped the lower shock mount off the LCA.more mangled actually then ripped, but still you get the idea

I have called a few parts wherehouses in the area and to no avail.Nobody but dealer seems to get then around ehre and he(the local GM dealer) wants over $200 for 'em.

any guidance would be great!

Lower Control Arms

LMC sells a reproduction lower control arm for our trucks. They sells for $99.95, for each side. :D That's half the $200, but then how much is freight? Still you'll save some $$$.

I can get used parts from the boneyard for $40.00 each. I bought an entire front suspension off a suburban for $80. :D

Do you need both or just one?

At the moment(from what i could see) I only need the one driver side.

78SilveradoSWB: thats true, but it was at dealer discount(work at a Dodge dealer)so list price I was quoted at over 300+.Then i get it for 10% over the dealers cost.:whine:

Gchemist:They want 25 for the arm(used at a salvage yard) and 30 to pull it(cause i dont want to be knee deep in the mud around here:rolleyes: )i just didnt know if was a good idea to get a used lower arm from a yard(dont know if its common to have wallowed(sp) out bushing holes, like some dodges)

Thanks for the input guys, much appreciated.
Ill have to look into LMC.
