West to east- possible trip...

Long time no chat in here.... Hi to everyone! :)

I might be heading from Vancouver BC over to Pittsburgh (to pick up another toy, but not a truck... lol)

I'm trying to figure out how to make the trip a little more cost effective in the gas department (make teh husband happy-er) and was wondering if anyone has anything to be moved from west to east? Nothing crazy, of course, but I thought I'd see? You can see my route if you google the directions from vancouver bc to 15122 pa.

As well, I would love to know of any 'must see' things or places to go! I was thinking about taking a different route back, but am unsure as yet.

Hope everyone has a great new year!! :)
Take care

Tell the "Pool Boy" to take a bus...much cheaper...

I just shipped some HEAVY wheels to MN yesterday...sorry! It could have been perfect. This Saturday I might have a hood that needs to go to Sandpoint, ID or Bonners Ferry, ID. How much room do you have?

MUST SEE Glacier National Park...both sides of the border!

If you guys are coming across Iowa on Interstate 80 you are more than welcome to stop by our place. Pat and I always enjoy company and you can look at all my junk...:).. We are only 7 miles (11.27 km) south of I-80 on all paved roads and if you are pulling a trailer my drive is easy in, easy out.

Hey Kirsten,

You tryin to get away from that great Vancouver weather you've been having? If 30" of snow ain't your thing, here, have some rain instead! Hope your trip works out ok.

Bill.

Just Googled that route you were talking about. Funny thing is that about right on the border between Montana/North Dakota you have already driven the entire lenght of this place, and you are swimming for the South Pole! Gotta love North American road trips!
Have a good one.

WOW! 2668 miles... do you have to drive something to pick up the new toy or can you drive the new toy? It seems it would be cheaper to fly and drive it back?

I forgot how much I laugh here!!

The item I want to get is a letterpress... think the very beginning of photocopiers. They're hard to find and the guy who's selling it won't let it be shipped... they get broken a LOT. It's going to cost more to get it, but they're really hard to find on teh west coast (wish i'd found one when i was in NY in Nov.).
I checked out flying- it's be the same price as teh two of us flying, to drive, btu way faster... but still the getting it home issue. it's abotu 130 pounds and there's the additional items, too.

:) We had 30" at my house at least over the past weeks... then a bunch of rain and it's snowing agaIN!! THE FLAKES ARE ABOTU 1" ACROSS!! oops... (dang laptop keyboard)

:) thanks for teh tidbits- i did message longhorn man- he has a tendency to ignore me for a while because i'm not here enough HA HA *grin*

my .02
DO NOT DRIVE! Crossing the Rockies once in the middle of winter is RIDICULOUS, much less twice!

If you're taking 80 all the way across the country, I'd be prepared for at least one trip off the side of the road and at least 3 extra days in each direction because of horrible weather.

I've done the trip, and I know people who have done the trip... It's SO much easier to fly.

P.S. I almost left my long term, live in girlfriend in Reno.

I agree! But keep in mind the road through Glacier is closed with snow until about June 10 or so.

Geez Kirsten, you just gonna use us like that and then disappear for another 5 years? I feel like a piece of meat.

Hmmmm, as far as 'must see', you could come see me! ;) Oh wait-you're married now...and I'm no longer single. Nevermind. Glad to see you back on the board.:D
