Which of the 2 brackets is for the Turbo 350? Is it the short or long one?

My 70 Chevy looks different than both those, what are you working on?

That's what I was afraid of. That these are not for or trucks. I'm trying to piece together the shift linkage for an auto setup. Want to go factory setup. Got these off a board member on here. Should've did more research. I still think I might be able to use these. Just thought someone might know about these. Maybe from a car?? Here's a pic of the who setup I have.
Does the rest of this look like truck linkage?? |
Re: Auto Trans bracket?
All that looks correct ,except for the 2 brackets you posted first. Although one of those may work, it bolts in the frame rail w/stud facing trans. The straighter rod looks like my 70 as well.

Re: Auto Trans bracket?
Pretty much except for the part that mounts to the frame. The stock piece is longer on the flat that the dowel is stuck thru and the bolt holes are facing in different directions.

Re: Auto Trans bracket?
Long one is for th400 and short one is for th350 in a 4x4. Both desireable and more difficult to find than the common th350 2wd frame bracket. You have some hard to get parts there- the more severe bent rod goes with the short pivot for 4x4 and the straighter rod is for th400 or th350 in 2wd trucks. The rest is all interchangable and the same between all three.

Re: Auto Trans bracket?
Great info guys.....Thanks a million. Now that I know what I need, heres a part number I found for that frame bracket for the 350 turbo, and it's still available thru Chevy. 3973000 is the number. I'm going to the dealer tomorrow & get one. So that will give me a complete, correct setup. I'm most likely going to be powder coating these parts satin black, so I'll probably sell the left overs.
I have all the numbers for this setup now, but most are not available anymore. |
Re: Auto Trans bracket?
Turns out that part number is not for that bracket. It came in today and what GM sent me was the bracket that holds the passing gear cable to the intake manifold. So, that's the wrong number.
So, going to have to look for that frame bracket. Anyone have one? I can trade for these big block ones I have or cash/Paypal. |
Re: Auto Trans bracket?
I will trade with you, I think I have a th350 bracket. If you are interested I would rather the short pivot for 4x4 andthe extreme bent rod for th350 2wd frame bracket and rod. LMK
