I cut out and repaired on area that was rusted by one of my braces in my bedside. The other braced area is rusted thru as well, but it is not flat like the first one. I'm not sure I'm talented enough to handle this one with the bends. Any advice would be appreciated.

I know my friend Robin who's truck is in Classic Truck mag. this month is lurking out there watching my posts. Show yourself Crowder, you pesky wabbitt! I know you have one of those OTHER trucks from the other boards, but, call a friend up and help him with this problem!!

I obviously have some cleaning up of the welds yet, and the one edge may not be as crisp as I would have liked it, but I think it will be ok.....especially for a driver!;)

Joe's right. Hands on, head first is the best way to learn. Great job!!

BTW, a little taunting from a friend never hurts either!

PicMan...:haha:

My buddy really didn't razz me, in fact he was on the phone calling me within an hour of my post offering comfort. He knows I'm an :aw: I told him I was already in the middle of it, and thought I might be able to do it. I have to admit, I'm going to have to go buy a vise. I gave one away to a guy at work several years ago cause it took up a lot of room. It must have weighed 70 pounds! It would have been handy for this. If you live long enough, you regret some things!:sumo:

Looking good Curt.
You know the saying(which I quote to my other half all the time)
Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it!

Yeah, I saw a comic at the back of a truck magazine where the guy was bringing home an old clunker and the wifey had her hands on her hips. He said he needed it to be able to use all the tools she was complaining about in the garage....kinda the same principle!
