Bird watching...

5 Attachment(s)
Yesterday I took the family out to try and spot some of the bald eagles that migrate to this area during the winter. We didnt see many birds, but it was a good excuse to cruise the back roads of some small towns and see what kind of old iron is out there sitting in fields and behind barns. Sorry the pics arent better, most were taken through the window of a moving truck.

It amazes me everytime I see pictures like this of how much is wasted. I bet 99% of the people that own those cars and trucks say they are going to fix them up at some point.

Wow, what a variety. They all look good too. Well in a rusted tangled mess kinda way. I guess I will have to follow a Bald Eagle if I see one.

Glad you guys like the pics. The place with the 4 57's in a row also has 2 more inside the barn along with a '66 Charger. He use to have a '69 El Camino sittin in that row too, but it disappeared a few years back.

Nice pictures - I love seeing that stuff. Not much of that around here, I'm afraid. Thanks for sharing.

I just read your other post where you said he had a 66 charger. Would it happen to be red? there was one in an abandoned garage in my town 3 or 4 years ago and I looked for it recently and it was gone. Maybe it is the same one.

All this stuff is up in north central Oklahoma near the Kansas border. The pictures were taken in and around Ponca City, Newkirk, and Shidler. The Charger is red but it cant be the same one you're talking about, I know the guys son and hes had it for at least 15 years. Theres a few more spots around here that have alot of old cars and trucks, I'll see if I can get some more pics today or tomorrow.

you should drive south from ponca down to stillwater and look at the classic salavge yard. every year the old man does a $300 deal where you can get any car on the land for $300. theres over 40 acres of cars and theyre all seperated pretty good by cars trucks delivery and years. its amazing.

i have a few pages of places ive documented having some old iron from all over oklahoma

Great picts thanks for sharing!!!!

It makes me wonder why do people let these beauties just rot away?

There is nothing remotely close to anything like that here in my area at all.

I'm sick of living in a large city. You can't find stuff like this around here.

Is it between Stillwater and Ponca? I live in Ponca and I remember going to a place like that about 12 years ago to look at a wrecked 69 Camaro to use for parts for my car. I think the guys last name was "Casto" or something like that, it was out in the middle of nowhere and he had a whole field full of pre 1970 cars and trucks. Not sure if its the same place your talking about, but I wish I would have had a camera with me back then, it was a pretty cool place. Id never be able to find it now. I got some more pics I'll post today after I get off work.
