Finally making progress on my interior
The weather here has been in the 60's the last couple days so I have been trying to get as much done on the K5 as possible. I added some fatmat to the most of the floor and wheel tubs but still need to finish behind the tubs. Keep in mind this blazer will probably never really see rain, I've had it two years and only put a few hundred miles on it so please dont give me too much crap about the way I did the sub. I'm hoping once I get the back seat installed it will help break up the look of the side panel, I think it might look a little too color matched but I think its growing on me. I still have to build the amp rack on the other side, and smooth out some wrinkles, ... but thought I would post some pictures of my progress
Here is what it looked like when I started, with my little helper giving orders ha http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/b...12/adam010.jpg Frame for the box http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/b...12/adam011.jpg Hole cut in inner side panel to gain extra depth for sub http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/b...12/adam015.jpg couple layers of fiberglass added http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/b.../adam019-1.jpg After a couple layers dried I pulled it out and added 7 more layers of fiberglass and built the top panel. I carpeted it to help stop any rattling (forgot to take pictures of that) http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/b.../adam020-1.jpg New carpet kit installed and wrapped the panel in vinyl http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/b.../adam021-1.jpg http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/b.../adam022-1.jpg http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/b.../adam023-1.jpg ] |

Re: Finally making progress on my interior
Thanks. I think I need to swap the colors on the 6*9 grills though, I think that will look better.

Re: Finally making progress on my interior
Thought the young'en was you when you started this project, LOLL. Looks good so far. I would try to smooth out the wrinkles in the speaker boxes though. Did you put any foam under the cloth? That usually helps a bit. Where did you get the bucket seats? They look sweet. jim

The buckets are from a newer f*150 |
Re: Finally making progress on my interior
F150? Oh well, no matter. Was bracketing difficult and how did you deal with the seatbelts? I hate to admit Ferd did something right but those seats are cool. Is there a console in there someplace? jim
