WIW 77 2wd Blazer Chassis
Hey everyone,
I have a factory 2wd 77 Blazer. I am trying to determine the value of it as either a rolling chassis or stripped down to just the Frame. For those who may not know, this is the last year you can directly swap any tub from 73-77 onto it, so I was thinking it might be peek someone's interest here on the board. Currently the tub is still on it and it is a rolling chassis. It has a 12 bolt posi (not sure of the ratio yet) with new brake shoes stock front end A-arms, spindles, brakes etc... It is a Trailering Special which adds a heavy duty front sway bar, heavy duty hitch, 31 gallon fuel tank, and I forget what else at the moment. I have pics of the Blazer on the day I got it, before the front clip was removed along with the engine/trans. Any ideas? Pictures of it intact and caked with mud everywhere.. http://www.flickr.com/photos/hikingd...7603401740513/ |

I sold my '81 complete minus drivetrain and interior but with newer Western Chassis drop spindles and a flip kit installed, welded in rollpan with LED's (needed some work from a botched trailer loading episode) for $750 and was happy to get it! I guess it all depends on your timing? |
Re: WIW 77 2wd Blazer Chassis
Travis,
Thanks for the feedback, Up in this part of the country, I don't think it will bring that much, but who knows... Since I still have the 75 Blazer for my son, and my 78 Short Wide, I figured I would look into getting myself another project not in the square body era. After attending a swap meet a few months back, I found myself surrounded by 67-72 trucks and it made me long for my old 67. Long story short, I worked a deal with a board member (Livrat) to acquire a 70 Blazer that he/we are converting to 2wd. Should be a ton of fun. It will get the trailing arm rear suspension with 4 corner air ride as well as other goodies.. I should have some pictures of it in a few weeks when I go back up to his place. So what this means, is I will have a ton of 73-80 stuff for sale in the very near future, I have gathered lots of stuff over the last two years. I'll offer it to board members first, then my local Craigslist. I was going to put the 77 back together, but I will be keeping the drivetrain and a few other things. That and the areas on the 77 that need attention are all related to the tub which I don't feel like tackling at the moment, as I am already working on the 75 over the winter. Talk to you later, Drew |
