72 vs. 71 Calipers?
I see that 71 & 72 have different part numbers, but can anybody tell me the difference? I ask because I have a set of spindles off of what I was told was a 71, but the casting number on the caliper is 5471172. I just want to make sure I get the correct caliper is all. Will 71 & 72 calipers fit each others spindles? Is there really a difference? Thanks!

Re: 72 vs. 71 Calipers?
They show two different part #'s for 71 and 72. They look identical have the same bore size on the piston are the same size overall and take the same pads and caliper hardware, soooo I would say that they will work just fine!!!!;)

Re: 72 vs. 71 Calipers?
There are slight differences between the two but they will interchange. I beleive the location where the hose connects is a little different. If you have original brake hoses I don't beleive the 71 hoses are long enough to reach where it connects to the 72 caliper. I had to change my original hoses a few months ago and opted for the stainless ones and I think they would work for either caliper.

Can you tell a differance with the S/S hoses as far as stopping power are it feeling better? I have thought about swaping mine out since I haven't ever changed them.

Here are pics of the reman calipers I purchased yesterday. I told my parts guy I needed calipers for my 71 & this is what I got. How are the 72’s different? Anybody have a picture of what the 72's look like?
