Update on the herd

This is not entirely about 67-72's but I figured I better post some updates to the herd. Well, to start, I sold my 1994 Chev Regular Cab Longbox 2WD and my 1990 GMC Regular Cab Shortbox 2WD and here are the replacements:

2003 GMC Sierra SLT - Full load with leather and all the bells and whistles including an 8.1L big block and Allison transmission.

With all that towing power, I had to get something to pull behind it - A 24' enclosed car hauler. It sure has been nice moving vehicles around in this thing... No more waiting for a deck truck to transport my projects.

Here is my latest acquisition... A 1970 Chevelle SS Clone with a 468BB, TH400, Hotshkiss suspension, 4-wheel disc brakes, air bags and a 475HP NOS system.

Here is the 1968 LWB that I picked up in Washington last fall. They're not the best pictures but I haven't posted any yet so they're better than nothing. It's really clean (no rust) and has a fairly fresh 350/350 combo. I have already installed lowering springs and I plan to clean up a few things, install a different seat and new carpet, two-tone it with white, install '68 style side moldings and maybe some different wheels & tires.

Last, but not least, here are a few pictures of my truck from a car show last summer. Not much new there but I have picked out material for the interior and will be starting on it in a few months.

And, I have to say, I am fortunate to have a wife that puts up with my car and truck addiction... I think she has given up hope trying to change be and has started to learn to live with it.

Why'd you get an 8.1L? Why not get a D-max? I dont understand.

Re: Update on the herd

I have been looking for a "car" for a while and just happened to come across this Chevelle hlocally. The guy selling it sunk a fortune into it and, from what I could gather, had to get rid of it for financial reasons... Good for me - bad for him. The more I look at it, the more I like it.

My green SWB is actually a '70 with a '72 cab and front clip... If anyone is looking for more pics, there are quite a few in my build thread:

I was looking for a gas motor because my truck's primary function is a daily driver - not pulling a trailer. The 8.1 works well for what I need and no disrespect intended to any diesel lovers out there but I would never own one unless it was in my tractor.
