motor mount question
If you change the front clip to camaro, buick, trans am, etc I know how to monut a 350 motor between the frame rails but how do you do mount a 350 block without changing the front clip? What mounts could I use?

Re: motor mount question
Two most common ways are a tube that spans between the frame rails under the pan or mounts that weld to the side rails. If you don't use the stock bellhousing you will also need to get a transmount, also runs from rail to rail under the trans mount location. A search at most of the aftermarket places will turn up both. Look at our friendly site sponsors. Choice depends on your welding and fabing skill level. Most of the non-clipped build threads have variations you can look at.

Re: motor mount question
OrrieG said what I would have almost word for word.
If you are running a small block Chev one of the universal tube style mounts would probably be the easiest. First though, what model of chassis are you putting the engine in and what trans are you using? That might simplify things. |
