Taillight Decision
I'm trying to figure out if I want to use Caddy taillights in place of the stock rectangular version on my 63 Fleetside. I am running a roll pan with a stock tailgate w/o lettering and the chains and brackets have be shaved. I was wanting to know what you guys though because I like the custom look of the Caddy's but also think the stock look kind of cool because they don't pull in as much attention. Basically the choices lie between these two.

Re: Taillight Decision
flip the caddy light upside down and run them from the top of the original lights down....follow?

Re: Taillight Decision
I like the stock ones. If you run 100% new lights in the back they look so cool and they are perfect for running blue dots.

Re: Taillight Decision
Yeah I follow. I'm trying to get it to where I still use the original hole also and just extend around it so that I don't have anything to fill if I do go that route.

Re: Taillight Decision
Those caddy lights just don't fit the truck. :ugly:
What about some 50 buick tail light in the stock location.http://www.madfabricators.com/ftp/Co...d/DSCN0105.jpg |
Re: Taillight Decision
What ever you do, try to keep the whole truck in mind. I think you can get the best look by keeping within a theme or certain style. Just something to consider;).

Re: Taillight Decision
Thanks for the idea Rogue, That would be interesting. I just wouldnt be able to find them around here and I'm not so sure about their shape. I was looking for something flat.

Re: Taillight Decision
I'm just about settled on the stock styled LED's. They compliment the bottom curve of the body very nicely and I like that they keep it clean and simple. Thanks a lot guys.

I've always wanted to do the 50 buick thing, but they're not too easy to attain and I haven't seen any repops.

Re: Taillight Decision
51 Pontiac or 51 Ford Vickie. I thought of both before I decided to keep mine original and just bought replacements.
Factory orginal, in new condition, with blue dots. Works for me. EDIT: Man, I need to update my picture. It is now suede black, lowered, different mirror all new lights, rubber and wiring. |
Re: Taillight Decision
out of those 2 I'd stick with stock:floss:
