fuel gauge staying at 1/2 tank
I have a 1967 CST that has a problem with the fuel gauge. It doesn't move, so I put a test light to the wire at the tank and it went to full. The fuel tank and sending unit are new. Any suggestions?
Anyone know a company that sells fiberglass bed covers for my truck? |
Re: fuel gauge staying at 1/2 tank
You never run out of gas, what's the problem?
In all seriousness, have you checked the grounds on your gauge cluster? Gaylord makes nice fiberglass covers for these trucks. |
Re: fuel gauge staying at 1/2 tank
I have only had the truck for a short time. Where are the grounds on the cluster?
Does anyone have any seat belts for a 67? |
Re: fuel gauge staying at 1/2 tank
I have a Gaylords fiberglass cover on my 72 SWB. I love it. As far as I know, they are the only company that makes them for our trucks.

Your problem is absolutely poor ground.

haven't looked at a wiring diagram lately, but i know there's a fuse for the dash that includes the fuel gauge... that fuse cost me a carb once... (long story)
