power steering is hooked up BUT!!!!

here is my situation, I have a 72 1/2 ton I put a 94 LT1 motor in it. I wanted all the accessories to be on the drivers side, that entails the A/C comp. the power steering and the Alt. so I have all the lines connected, High Pressure line off the gear box to the High Pressure side of the CORVETTE power Steering Pump. the low pressure line is from the bottom of the pump to the reservoir for the power steering and then the line goes from the reservoir to the truck gear box. Im not sure if it can go any other way. this is running a serpentine belt system. the belt is tracking the way it is intended to. and its been a long time for me to drive this truck but if its got power steering? (it had power steering before the 7 year rebuild) the good lord needs an 8th day because its all I can do to turn the steering while the engine is running. so is the corvette pump running backwards and this is why its not working the power steering or,

Please everyone help me out here, how do I troubleshoot this issue

While looking at the motor from the front of truck with the motor running which way is the pulley spinning? It should be spinning clock wise.

If the pump is running the right direction then you may need to burp the air from the system.Jack the front tires off the ground and turn the wheel lock to lock a few times adding PS fluid as needed.

yes in the first picture the belt is on the right of the pully, well the tracking on my pully is on the lft so the pully runs counter clock wise. But thats how the belt on mine is to run, so Id say I need to find out if the corvette pump needs to run clock wise or counter clock wise, at this point I have no power steering so it has to be the direction the pully is running correct? I will see if I can get a few pics up today so we can pursue this deeper, LOL I do have this pic but it dont show much right now

I'm going to say it's running backwards. Both those pictures are for a corvette setup. Both pictures show the pump running clock wise with diferant belt routes.

Andy, and Panel thank you for looking at this with me, Andy another question I have been digging at is, I read on another forum just 1/2 hour ago was one thread talked about the fluid, they said ATF should be used??? do you have any input on this, because I have got p/s fluid in there now, but yes I think maybe the pump is running backwards. I'm searching now for where I got the diagram for the belt tracking, how do I get myself all worked up, anything can be fixed right?

a simple way to see if the pump is pumping or not is to take what you think is the output loose and put it in a bucket or other container. Have someone start the engine while you hold the outpu and see if fluid comes out under pressure.

AMAZING, if you track the Belt correctly the power steering works just like it was intended to, ANDY thank you very much for your help and also Panel Deland, and Wideside 72, man did I feel foolish well again thanks everybody. Geesh I just want to get this road worthy to have fun,
