Preferred Mufflers!!

Which mufflers do you prefer, using 2 1/2" pipe, straight out the back??

For the money, the DynoMax Superturbos are hard to beat. I havent tryed the hooker muffs, but have tryed the flowmasters......didnt like them, they didnt stay on the truck too long. :barf:

I've been using the mid 90's model flowmasters and have yet to dislike them. Once again it must depend on personal preference.

mtdave2 12-12-2002 11:36 AM

im liking the magnaflows.. not as annoying as flows.

stknrdr 12-12-2002 01:08 PM

I like my flowmasters a lot, mostly for thier durability and resistance to rust and corrosion - they are quite LOUD though.....

GMC JUNKIE TOO 12-12-2002 01:35 PM

I like my flomasters. But would have gotten magna flows but the muffler shop stoped carrying them, they said thet they had problems with their quality?

Flowmaster Delta Flow 40's for me! I have them on my truck, and they end infront of my rear axle. It sounds really good. Deep and throaty :).

Randy70C-10 12-12-2002 01:46 PM

I use Summit Racing turbos. They are fairly quiet, and I can hear the blower better. :D

I have dual Flowmaster 50 series. I love the sound of them and the performance gain. Also they are easier on the cash.

Flowmasters:barf: :barf: :barf:
Magnaflows, out flow them and sound MUUUUUCH better JMO. I did the flowmasters, same as longhorn yank em off and in the trash.:D

Check em out, they got some good info , customer comments and magazine write ups. http://magnaflow.com/01home.htm

Hey NSANE68!!!

Is there a particular model, or size that I should use?
I think I have decided on Magnaflows, but want the
right thing!!

Any advice would be awesome.

Thanks,
Dan

I used the center in center out, oval style with 2.5 in and out.
I have 2.5 from the headers all the way out.
SOUNDS AWSOME!!!!:D

I had Flowmaster 50s with "Delta Flow Technology" and they were too loud inside and out. I now have DynoMax Super Hemi Turbos and they make a rat-tat-tat noise on acceleration, but are much quieter, especially in the cab. I used an equalizer tube for both systems, and tailpipes exit under the bumper. I think the big 70 series Flowmasters (offset in and out) may be my next choice, but they are asspensive!

Flowmasters have such a sweet tone.

DanoDMano 12-12-2002 07:54 PM

Exhaust

Thank you for the advice and input!!
I have decided to go with the magnaflows, straight out the back!!

Hope it sounds good!!:D

MikeB 12-12-2002 10:42 PM

Magnaflows are straight through -- kinda like a big glass pack. Let us know how they sound. Come to think of it, I remember the days when galss packs were the ONLY performance mufflers, and they sounded pretty good.

73stepside 12-12-2002 11:28 PM

if you like the sound of flows, then you will like the sound of hookers. hookers are only slightly louder than dynomax at idle. they sound an awful lot like magnaflow and gibson, plus they outflow just about everything on the market. i love the sound of the hooker on my camaro. they sound way better thru a good 2.5/2.25 dual exhaust and don't produce very much interior noise.
