Do a search, this is discussed all the time. Seems to be two schools depending on your end goal (how low do you want to go!) and your skill level. Personally I would go with aftermarket that uses the original frame.

A Camaro clip is IFS. One of the board members dads is selling a nifty custom built subframe for these trucks that takes G body or S-10 suspension pieces.
Not cheap but when you consider that the 78/80 something Chevelle style GM metric cars can usually be found sitting dead for next to nothing and repair and upgrade pieces are relatively inexpensive it looks to be an interesting option.

From what I have read the camaro is fine.. My 53 has a 77 camaro front clip in it..

I think the biggest thing is your wallet size vs your skill level.. Have deep pockets then the Mustang 2 would be great.. have some skills the camaro front clip will do everything you need.

So it comes down to what you can afford and how much work you can do..

I'll chime in and let you know that a drop axle is also and option! If done wrong either of the IFS's can be nasty.

i used a nova clip (same as camaro) and it seemed to be a bit more heavy duty to me. i bought a nova for $500, planned to use the motor, but it turned out to be a 305 (thought it was a 350) but i used the front subframe, rear axle and steering column, and paid $65 to have the body hauled off from my driveway for scrap. so that seemed like the more economical way to do it also.

when I did my 71 camaro sub I used the whole sub frame. Layed it under my 56 frame so I didn't need to lay out for the tranny mount. I used the subs mounting holes and drilled them into the 56 ,bolted it together aligned it and welded it together. then boxed it worked out great. I cut the 56 front to the contour the 71 and welded and boxed it also
