progress report... still disassembling
whats up guys! heres my weekend update (my weekends r different than most). i havent started a build thread yet because i'm still tearing her down. i have been cleaning/pressure washing/wire wheeling/blasting as i go. once i'm ready to start laying down the paint on the chassis and suspension i'll start one!
i went to sears today and bought another sandblast gun to go in a 5 gallon bucket so i could blast the big parts. i also bought a dewalt wire wheel that really helps w/ the big easy to reach places and the blaster gets the hard to reach spots. so far its working out good. just time consuming and tedious. as for the degreasing ive been using super clean/scrapers/and a 2500psi pressure washer. was holding the the brake dust shield and ran the wand over my hand by accident and it peeled the skin off like an orange and started bleeding! crazy... anyways on to the pics!! enjoy, Dennis http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/f...8/IMG_4105.jpg http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/f...8/IMG_4106.jpg http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/f...8/IMG_4107.jpg http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/f...8/IMG_4108.jpg http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/f...8/IMG_4109.jpg http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/f...8/IMG_4113.jpg the bushings, tie rods, ball joints, ect... were all replaced last year so i just taped them off so i didnt get sand in them. i just need new dust boots for the tie rod ends because i ripped them w/ the pickle fork. any one know if i can just get them at napa?? |
Re: progress report... still disassembling
looks like its coming along nicely, keep us posted... wouldnt it be cheaper to get whole new tie rod ends?

Re: progress report... still disassembling
you can buy the boots you need in the dorman or help section at the auto parts store.

Re: progress report... still disassembling
good progress, keep em comin! if you can, when holding parts for blasting, use a pair of channel locks or any long pliars, just in case.
