My hatch is pretty much junk,it is my understanding that a hatch for a single wall and dbl wall top are the same, is this correct?

Just found out that the top mentioned above is a single wall. Would a person encounter modifications changing from a double wall to a single wall? (Holes in bed)

Looks like I"m the proud owner of the above mentioned top (once I pick it up) have a question though, Do the mounting holes in a single wall and a double wall match the holes in my bed? If not I mainly bought it for the hatch as mine is junk.

I think the holes are different.

Depends on your year model Blazer. 69 and 70 will only accept a double wall. Single walls came out for 72, so alot of them have both sets of holes (mine does). Don't quote me on 71 exactly, it was some what of a transition, not sure on that one but I "think" most of them are double only. I'm sure someone else can give you a more possitive answer. The best way to check and see if you have 11 holes down the top of each bedside, 6 are just drilled holes, 5 will have a fixed nut in it for the single wall top. I am betting that your 71is only set up for the double wall...in other words, 6 drilled holes down each bed side. Hope this makes sence.

Thanks for the input, the truck came with a double wall and there is six holes down each bed side. It sounds like that a single wall is well liked among most of the blazer owners but the one that was on mine when bought was not in to bad of shape. But bought this one for the hatch anyway, thanks again.;)

Re: Top

Let me know if you want to get rid of that single wall, beings you don't have the correct bolt holes and all. ;)

Re: Top

my 72 has both the nuts and the holes but i don't know if it came that way. I know the top is off of a 70. wish i had a single wall so it would be original. If critter don't won't it i'll get in line next if you decide to sell.

Will keep you in mind. Had to go get it in a snow storm, was covered in snow and ice from the ride home on a trailer. Didn't get a chance to look at it very close, doesn't look to bad though.
