I thought they did??? all I got is the interior dome light. Didnt they come with them?

OK, just went out and looked and my 1987 Silverado has the under dash bulb right where they are on other trucks.

My 87 has 1 under the dash between the ash tray and glove box door, as well as the dome light.

Its -10 celcius here...:lol: :metal: Thanks guys. I wonder why you only have one between the ashtray and glovebox??. I thought they were one on each side. Is there one for the ashtray??

if you really want to brighten it up just stick an 1156 in it. Done that to all of mine, when i turn on the lights I wanna see!

All 73-87 Trucks have them, even the Custom Delux.
It's the dome light that only came on the Cheyenne/Scottsdale and Cheyenne Super/Silverado.

It's not uncommon to find those lights removed and tangled up under the
dash somewhere, don't ask me why.

Ditto on what heavychevy79 said. All of them got the underdash light, most ended up twisted and pointing toward the rear of the dash. I would guess it was from kids kicking around under the dash :D

My dome light burned up a few weeks ago and I had zero light but I completely forgot about the floor light. Guess I got a bad bulb to replace ?:lol:

I took it out and went to match one up. its a single point twist in. Dont remember the number

Sorry - joining the conversation a bit late -

For the ashtray, there is a fiber optic cable that runs from the upper RH corner of the gage cluster (which is where the bulb is) down to the top of the ashtray housing.

My '87 also has one under dash courtesty light between the ash tray and glove box. I'll stick an 1156 in it when I get home! :metal:

Just fyi, the under dash courtesy light is a 1003 bulb and the dome light is a 1004.

I know this is an old post that got pushed to the top. I thought I would add, that you could get the set of courtesy lights from LMC and add to the one under the dash. After splicing in the wiring to the existing light, I placed the new lights at each end of the dash. All 3 bulbs were replaced with LED Bulbs. It really added a lot of light, especially at night.

My 84 Sierra didn't come with a dome light from the factory, only one under dash courtesy light, that doesn't work, so I bought an LED house light, and stuck it to the inside of the roof with the double stick tape it comes with. It's adjustable from light light to blinding.
