Upgrading the laundry room
 

We got a pair of upright washer/dryer because my wife can't bend over repeatedly and doesn't like me to do the laundry.

To get them to sit next to each other we had to dispose of a large, concrete deep sink.

Step one:
Remove the sink and get rid of the old drain -- nothing stops sawzall man!

In swapping the washer water supply with the sink water supply I discovered a small, weeping leak cause, no doubt, by moving the pipe.

I pulled it down (told you it leaked!) and discovered this mess -- undoubtably something sold on TV in a comercial that starts off with "Hi, Billy Mays here..."

I cleaned it up some and resoldered the elbow and joiner. After that I cleaned it again to get it ready to reattach.

Here is the end, goobery result -- but it doesn't leak! :)

Well,that turned out to be a bit more of a project.But,you got right through it.It`s a nice solution.

My next trick is going to be an electrical upgrade for that part of the house.

I'll be running a new circuit to that room because it currently shares a circuit with the kitchen above it. You can't run a deep fryer and wash clothes at the same time so I'm going to isolate the washer and the lighting for that room on a new circuit.

Since I have to tear out some wall and ceiling to do that; I'm going to run a new circuit to the kitchen also. These older houses are a bit lacking in circuit isolation.

It's always a mess until you get all back togeather isnt it ? when you remodel
a room in the house ,,it's hard to keep from going back into after its done just to look at it .. LOL

I have been married 23 years and I still not allowed in the laundry unless something needs fixed or moved. While dating my wife to be she observed my system 2 baskets one for dirty one for clean . When the first basket gets full you shove the whole mess in the washer and wash, now you have a new clean basket.23 years and still don't do laundry.
