Rear Disc Brake Brackets
1 Attachment(s)
These brackets are for putting disc brakes on your 10 or 12 bolt pickup rear differential with the 5 on 5 bolt pattern. They are designed to use the '78 and up metric passenger car calipers and Lincoln Mark IV rotors. A list of part numbers will be provided. The brackets are powder coated in gray hammertone and come with grade 8 fasteners. Price is $70.00 shipped to your door in 2 to 3 days. I have 3 sets of these available.

Ok here are some installed pics of the brackets. One thing I forgot to mention in the first post is that when using this setup you will most likely need to have the flanges of your axles machined down to 6.250" OD. This is needed to accomodate the lincoln rotors. If you have aftermarket axles, I would check them first before assuming it needs to be done. If you don't have a way to get them machined in a lathe, this can be done with an angle grinder, a good hard wheel and some patience. Typically you will need to take off .250" (1/4") of the diameter or .125" (1/8") around the circumference.
Upon setting up this assembly to take pictures today, I discovered a small issue with a reman caliper I picked up today. As I have read in the last couple of years, the castings of the reman calipers can vary from mfg to mfg. This became apparent with the newest caliper having 3 bosses that were interfering with the caliper bracket. This was easily taken care of with a flap disc on a grinder, providing a bit of clearance. Back when I originally made these brackets, I had not run into this issue. As a comparison I have included a pic of an OEM 3rd Gen F- body e-brake caliper. Let me know if you have any further questions, or if you need to see something not shown in these pics. |

Re: Rear Disc Brake Brackets
BigPimp - Do you have these installed yet?
Captainfab - Are the lincoln rotors the only ones that work, or can you use the actual truck rotors? |
Re: Rear Disc Brake Brackets
the truck front rotors won't work, they have a hub built in.....
