Very much appreciated!! I had run across this one before in a Craigslist ad (post #3 here) but only had the ad photo which I brightened up a bunch so I could see details. The seller was kind enough to provide the serial # & build date. Always glad to have more photos and details, though!

know that's a project. that's a lot of rust. why do these blazer's rust so much in the same area. like the quarter panel's on that blazer did they most likely rust because of the wheel well crome trim piece.

I always heard it was a lack of undercoating from the factory...

Russell, glad I could help. More than likely the guy who did own it sold it to the junkyard where it sits now...it looks as if it is in a different location...and there is no way it could have drove there! :D

The owner of the yard I guarantee does not own a cell phone. If you send anyone there, warn them he is a crabby ol bastard!! OK, he isn't soo bad once you get to know him, but he'll be a prick upon first meeting you.

These were all '76s or '77s, except I'm still wondering about the one in this thread, which doesn't seem to follow the standards us Chalet nuts are familiar with - colors & stripe designs. It may have been a leftover camper unit that was plopped on a '78, and given a serial number way out of sequence with the others....

It is now for sale at this estate sale link.

I never knew they only ran such a short run, the one you linked me to is a 77-78 by the grille, but no yellow trim so 78. It is possible its just a spare parts run off, gm did that alot. But it still doesnt explain the difference in vin sequence, unless they started to do a second run perhaps?
