Exhaust fumes in the truck
I was just wondering if anyone has problems with getting exhaust fumes in the truck at any time. Top on,, top off,, back window open? And where does your exhaust exit, if you do have exhaust getting in? I'm am tying to figure out where to put my tailpipes. I originally had it coming out the side just in front of the rear tires, and had no problem ever, but seem to remember on my other Blazer, at times there was fumes getting in. Its tail pipes where out the back.

Re: Exhaust fumes in the truck
If you route the exhaust out the side behind the rear wheels, you'll get less fumes inside the truck. You may also want to check the seals around tailgate and rear hatch.

Best case scenario.

Re: Exhaust fumes in the truck
MIne look like VTBlazers as well. The 45 degree angle has little effect on flow, but gets it out the side. You NEVER want a straight back exhaust on a 4x4 anyhow. When you get stuck and have to move forwards and backwards, you end up packing the exhuast full of mud and water!

So,,,, those people that do have the tailpipes out the side behind the tires,,,,, do you ever get exhaust fumes in the truck?

Having all the rubber seals in place around the hatch & tail-gate also makes a big difference. |
Re: Exhaust fumes in the truck
Thats sorta, what I remember. I think I'll just put it out the side in front of the rear tires. I know that way, there is no exhaust in the truck ever. Thanks for the input.

Re: Exhaust fumes in the truck
yup, going straight out the back is the fumiest location :uhmk:
I don't run a hardtop anymore and mostly the soft top stays down. BUTT if I have the soft top up and the back window removed/open peeeeeee-you  http://www.norcalbigdawgs.net/Galler...010006_001.jpg http://www.norcalbigdawgs.net/Galler...b/100_0907.jpg http://www.norcalbigdawgs.net/Galler...newpaintK5.jpg If I remove all the windows and run safari style then I do not smell the fumes and of coarse I don't smell anything full-vert :chevy: So for me...I just don't run it with only the back window open and I'm fine..no smell :ito: :mm: |
