Blasphemy to the Chevy world
Hey guys, I know some of yall are gonna give me crap for this & others will enjoy it cuz its cool :uhmk:
Well Im prolly gonna start working on my 50 Ford F-1 to have a putter to drive that is cool & gets decent MPG I was wondering if any of yall had worked on one of these pickups & mainly if you know anything about putting one on a S-10 frame or clipping the Ford frame with the S-10 front clip ??? Here is a pic of it  http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j2...1Image0005.jpg |
Re: Blasphemy to the Chevy world
I know they use a long wheel base regular cab s10 frame under AD chevy trucks all the time. That might work for you too. a Dodge dakota might be a good donor too. Might want to take a tape measure to a wrecking yard and see what you find. I have three of those trucks, two 1/2 tons and a 2 ton, I can tell you that clipping with an s10 frame will be a challenge, there are some differences in width.

Re: Blasphemy to the Chevy world
When I was in HS I had a friend who's dad had a 68 Ford long bed with a race bred (I mean litteraly came out of an 8 second T-Bird) 396 stuffed in it.
We're not talking '61 Vettes here -- cross polinate till it's cool. :D |
Re: Blasphemy to the Chevy world
Thanks guys, I know of a few S-10s around here that some of my buddys have that I can get for a song, so Ima go measure on them & see what I need exactly
I may find that I just wanna build new body mounts & use the S-10 frame, but there is still the option of clipping it if that is too much of a chore (which I doubt it is) Cool thing is, where I work we have all kinds of bad ass tools to make stuff for it Need to patch the floor & put in a new battery box & I bought a fuel tank today (not permanent, but will work for a while) then once I get the cab on the frame Ima Z it to make it low & then I can get my engine & trans mounts made & put the rest of teh body on  Ima wire it from scratch too |

I would check to see if a 66-72 Chevelle or 70-81 camaro, or an old Volares if I am not mistaken, front end would not work a little better. I think the frame is alot narrower on the S-10 and does not match up as well, I know that they are not as beefy either, Grab the 10 or 12 bolt also? Old Ford trucks kick @$$ by the way..All cars are Cool, some just are cooler than others.
NOW THIS MAY BE CONSIDERED BLASPHEMY? HeHeHee , LOL:lol: |
Re: Blasphemy to the Chevy world
My neighbor put a 350 in a`77 Ford Explorer that appeared totally stock with whitewalls, wheelcovers, gold paint. That was one good running Ford.
