I'm gonna pick your brains! (and your spare parts)
Hello, My name is Travis and I'm from Oklaoma City. I've recently acquired my late grandfathers pickup which is why I'm here! :metal:
The truck is a 1972 GMC SierraGrande LWB. Green and White two tone. It's pretty much all there and all original. It's getting some rust in a few places like the rockers, the edge of the floor boards and one cab corner. The hod and top of the fenders have some surface rust on them but nothing major there. The engine is the 402 BB and the tranny is the TH400. It runs and drives ok. The engine is missing a little but that's probably because it's been sitting for a while. The seat and the dashpad are both pretty much shot though so I'll be replacing them pretty quick. The gears for the driver side window seem to be shot too. It's jumping and grinding when you roll the window up or down and you have to push/pull on the glass to help it so I'll be on that first since it's getting warm outside I plan to play as I go! :mm: |

Welcome to the board from Northern California.
Pink is the color of non subscribers, for a nominal fee you will change to blue, and be able to buy and sell your parts on the board... well worth the $$$ im my opinion. You can click the link in my signature to make it happen if you so desire. |

Welcome from down under... thanx for being manly enough to ask the pink question - I just thought it was because we of the pink status were big girls and I guess if we haven't subscribed we are big girls.
I will subscribe too as soon as the Aussie dollar and the US dollar become better friends. Make yourself at home and glad to have you on board. |

I have extended the original use though due to the fact that I like to drive by touch. I managed to scratch up both scrub rails within 12 hours of getting it home from the paint shop when I decided to see if breathing in would help us squeeze into the shed and it is a great way to park etc. I have a flat bed tray so I can drive by touch with minimum damage - once ran over a Ford and wrote the sedan off leaving me with a scratch on the tray. Now you mention it, you kids don't seem to have any bull bars or scrub rails at all over there. Do you not have wildlife over there or is panel work very cheap? Bum - I am hijacking another thread... do you feel at home yet? |

Re: I'm gonna pick your brains! (and your spare parts)
LMAO!!!!
1. We vastly outnumber the wildlife here and we're as loud as we are crazy so they tend to stay hidden as much as possible. 2. You drive by touch around here and someone will throw you in jail for it!!!!!! (and your insurance will cancel you  ) 3. This is what we call a "bull bar" http://www.pickupspecialties.com/Bul...e_bull_bar.htm ... they're basically used for speeding up slow riceburners.... lol ;) |
