I would like to say Hello.

I am new here and have a few questions about my chevys.I always wanted a 72 blazer. I now have one, CST,it has a throttle lock under the wiper control, and dealer installed cruise control. is that throttle lock common? As I have never seen one. I also lucked into a 1967 K 10 suburban 95% original, 72 350 and 8 inch channel iron rear bumper, I have heard rumors there were only 166 of these made. Any truth to that?

Re: I would like to say Hello.

welcome to the forums!
The throttle lock is rather uncommon, esp on something that doesn't have a PTO or set up for campers.
As for the production numbers on your K/10 burb.... that is dead on right.
Now we need to see photos!

Welcome to the club. I have found this bunch to be very knowledgable and friendly to boot. Perhaps a silly question but what is the difference between a k-10 and a c-10??

Re: I would like to say Hello.

K trucks are 4X4, C trucks are 2 wheel drive.
Bummer is, GM in there infinate wisdom, badged all trucks/burbs/panles C, and all blazers K.

Re: I would like to say Hello.

To be quite honest I don't know. I know how rare it is. I drive it almost everyday. I know I am the 3rd owner and I have the original paperwork(warranty documentation, owners manual)I know it is nearly as it was when it was bought new, only a little older, and I would NOT be afraid to drive it anywhere.I am trying to download pictures right now.

They are not pristine, but for what I have in them I'm not complaning.I really feel like I stole them. This country is full of old chevy 4x4s.I know where there is an early 60s sub 4x4 orig for sale, it looks driveable. I also have seen a 58ish apache 4x4 I dont know if it is for sale, but it is original. If it is possible I might be able to find more.

Re: I would like to say Hello.

WOW, I'm lovin this burb for bein so intact in all it's years and not bein "customized"...
Like LHM, I am interestested in that spare tire cover. Can you take a bunch of pictures of it from different angles, from the underside to the outside of the cover? I am working with a guy that may be able to reproduce 67/68 burb interiors, and this would be very helpfull since I never had one on my burb.
Also, so sweet to see the original head liner... <sigh>
Finally, I am very interested in seeing what kind of upholstery is under that itchy/scratchy auto parts store seat cover! If you have the other bench seats, can you take pictures of the vinyl on them for me?

Awesome burb ya got there my friend! :metal:

I may hit you up for more pictures of it if that is ok with you? Bein that yours hasn't been all jacked up by some idiot err, sorry I get angry when I see a 67/68 burb all torn up.

Re: I would like to say Hello.

I believe the reason the old girl is still so intact is that the original owner was a taxidermist, and he owned it until his death a couple of years ago. Then another gent in his late 60s bought it and very seldom drove it.mostly fixed what was going wrong,as it did. as for more pictures I will be most happy to take them.I have to go to work so I will see you guys later.

I'm not sure if that is original. At least the 69 cover was longer and had a snap-flap for accessing the mount:

You burb is very cool! Nice to see it is already a driver. It only took me a few months and a few thousand dollars to make mine a driver, on my third try!!!!

Re: I would like to say Hello.

I cant guarantee it is an original but it does fit the color of the interior as well as the spare

Re: I would like to say Hello.

I was wondering if anyone could give me a ballpark guess as to the value of my suburban, cause I barely found any info on it period.

Re: I would like to say Hello.

I am looking thru the owners manual and some things are not making sense. It says 4x4s are supposed to have an unmarried transferr case but mine is married.it also says my vin # should be 15 digits long but mine is only 12 digits long??? I think the insturment cluster is out of a later model according to everything I've seen or known,am I wrong, did they put this style insturment cluster in 67s??
