Engine hoist and stand?
Considering Harbor Freight for price, but Im concerned about quality. When it comes to 600 lbs of pain, A finger is worth more than saving some cash...
119 for a 1 ton hoist, and 60 for a 1/2 ton stand at harbor freight. Who else makes quality stuff that isnt gonna cost me and arm or a leg? (pun intended) |
Re: Engine hoist and stand?
I've never bought an engine hoist from Harbor Freight, but I have bought alot of other things from them and have no complaints

Re: Engine hoist and stand?
I've used there engine hoist no problems, another friend of mine used the same hoist to remove a 12v
cummins, no problems. But I would suggest getting the next size up on the engine hoist. as for the motor stand they look idenical to the more expensive ones i have just a different color. |
Re: Engine hoist and stand?
I have the engine stand from there, i used it when I rebuilt my SBC and had no problems.
H.F. is awesome.... |
Re: Engine hoist and stand?
I bought my hoist from sam's club. $162 out the door and it held a full dressed BBC into a top kick.
I would avoid a hoist from Pep Boys like the plague. |
Re: Engine hoist and stand?
I have a Harbor Freight engine hoist (2 ton version). Pulled a fully dressed big block with no problems.

Re: Engine hoist and stand?
all this stuff comes from the same factory in china ... if its red it goes to pep boys grey it goes to harbor freight.... do you really think there is a difference ?? If you buy the higher capacity lift then the metal may be a little higher tensile strength and maybe an extra brace thats about all the difference
