Can I run the RE-6's up front?
I have RE7's all the way around on my 72 blazer. I blew a bag today which sucks because I only had about 10 miles of road time on it.
Bottom line, I'm trying to make it to the Newport show this weekend and if I order another RE7 it might not make it here in time. There is a local guy in town that has a set of new RE6's. I could run them up front and keep the other RE7 as a replacement just in case. Any problems with that? |
Re: Can I run the RE-6's up front?
you can, but the mounting holes are different. Just be aware that you'll be drilling more holes.
you might try http://www.stylinsolutions.com/ to see if they can over night or second day you a bag. I wouldn't think the cost would to be to bad. I'll be running RE-6's up front in my '50. you just don't get as much travel with the RE-6's |
Re: Can I run the RE-6's up front?
I would think they would be the same. They only make one set of brackets for the front.

Re: Can I run the RE-6's up front?
I want to say the mounting hole are the same...
I used the same cup for a FR9000 and the regualar bag. The bolt holes where the same just the size needed for the plate was different.. |
Re: Can I run the RE-6's up front?
Any idea of what caused the bag to fail??

Re: Can I run the RE-6's up front?
Im with See Ten, wondering why it failed ???
But why dont you just put the RE-6's in the rear & swap the RE-7s into the front ??? A lil more work, but I think it would be better |
Re: Can I run the RE-6's up front?
I looked at my bags tonight, RE-6's and RE-7's and they are different. The RE-7 mounting holes are spread more than the RE-6's.

Re: Can I run the RE-6's up front?
thanks guys, I just borrowed a Firestone from TDave00 since I'm trying to get to Newport this Friday. Nobody is able to get me another slam by then. Well they can it's just going to cost me about as much as one bag will.
The bag failed because it apparently when down has been sitting on the end of the sway bar. |
