coil spring's(hood hinges) tip

just thought i'd drop a tip on here for anyone who's interested.i mounted my new powder coated hood hinges today and was thinking how in the he!! i was gonna put my fresh coil springs back on w/o scratching the purty black powder coating on both pieces. so's i came up w/ an idea (mine??!) of using a stout piece of braided nylon line ,put a loop at one end of the line and place the bottom of the coil spring on the lower "hook" of the hinge assembly.as you put the loop on the other end and give a quick yank/pull until you're up and over the other top "hook". no scratches on the restored hood hinge or the coil spring!don't know if this is too original but, beats the he!! out of using the long screw-drivers to use as leverage to remove/install the springs.;)

I sit the hinges on carpet & pull with a loop of romex wire...it is really strong...if one of those springs lets go when stretched, it could really kick!
