Promos

I have some 67/72 promos in my collection.I`ve shown these before:

Well,I went digging into my stash to take things to sell at Carlisle and turned these up I haven`t seen in ages.I need to build a case for these so I can display them better.I just don`t want them all dusty...

This ochre`71 is my favorite.I got it when I had an ochre`71 and my first truck was ochre,too...

Those are very cool. Amazing this stuff is still around. When we were kids my dad sold mopars from about 67 to 74ish...He was always bringing us promo stuff home. Cars and trucks (The company he worked for also had a GMC dealership) plus lots of cool display stuff and posters....We pretty much destroyed everything being a family of four boys.

Re: Promos

Yeah, weren`t they feebies back then? So,you wrecked purple passion `Cudas and such? The trucks are worth so much because they`d be the first to get abused.
I want to build some of my own promos with newer kits and matched to original paint. The hang up is the narrow whitewalls. They stopped putting those in kits years ago.I bought a truck junk yard boxful and some were in that. But,I want to learn how to make my own.

Re: Promos

i did not know that green 69 was a promo. i have one here that i believe must be a promo after seeing these, its a green 69 4 speed truck that has been painted a metallic green but it has the narrow whitewalls

Re: Promos

Let`s see it.I want to take a recent `72 kit and paint it all one color-matched color they never made in a promo, like medium olive poly. The hard part is the narrow whitewalls.

It would be cool to do a color they actually did,in a shortbed promo.
