Headers

Anyone build their own headers? if so what size tubing and post up a pic if you have it. I know you can buy them all day long but was just curious because of clearance issues some of us have ;)

I have not built mine yet, but here is a pic of the flanges I am going to use and from there I just planned on puchasing a general kit with U-bends, J-bends and straight pipe from either JEGS or SUMMIT. I'm not sure what gauge the kits are. These flanges are 1/4" thick. They are going to be for the GMC V-6.

I haven't built any...yet. You can do as Cort is doing, buy a header kit and make your own flanges, or buy a kit with flanges. If you don't want to buy a kit you could get the pre bent sections from Summit, Jegs, or your local auto parts that carries Walker/Dynomax.

Here's a thread over on the '67-'72 board on some custom made headers that are being sold. They look really good and might give you some ideas.
