Billet dash bezel overlay questions
 

Does anyone out there have the aluminum dash bezel overlays, you know, the ones that bolt on over your existing bezel...LMC and others sell them.

If anyone does I would greatly appreciate it if i could get the measurements of both gauge size openings (there are 2 big ones and four smaller ones)...I just need to know both sizes.

Also, has anyone purchased theirs from LMC and how is the quality?

I have all the billet aluminum stuff, door panels, dash insert, and dash bezel. Mine are these. They are made by Empire Motor Sports. I went with the polished ones instead of the brushed. This is the only ones I could find polished. They are nice pieces.

I haven't installed the dash pieces yet. Waiting to see how the it turns out about getting the rest of my interior covered to match the console.

Anyway, mine measure 4-9/16" on the big holes, and 2-9/16" for the small ones, to be exact. I'm guessing you are asking to see if you gauges will fit, right? The 5" tachs/speedos, and 2-5/8" gauges will fit these holes. But, and I say but, you probably won't like it. I know I don't. It looks good as hell, but you can't see the top of the gauges while driving. I've looked at too many at truck shows. This is why my gauges are installed like they are.

You are right about the way they sit, but since I already have the "in dash" Ultralights I don't have much of a choice.

So if I can't see the top of the speedo then i guess I will have to go faster to actually see the needle i guess! :D :)

Can you make one more measurement fo me Mike, I need the distance from the far left edge of the speedo hole to the crease on the insert (towards the four smaller gauges).

And one more ??, are the blinker openings round or triangular shaped...kind of hard to tell from the photo on the site you gave me.

OK.

From the far left edge of the speedo hole (big hole on left, right?), it's 5/16" to the crease. The turn signal holes are round as you can see below, 3/4" in size.

Hey Jeff I will have some pictures for you soon of my gauges installed. If you install them over the bezel you'll need to figure something out for the signal lights. I came up with a clean installed and will explain to you how I did it if you would like.

Well Jeff. What's the decision? Will or won't? Enquiring minds want to know. :)

I do agree that installing them over the bezel does limit your view of the gauges (tach & speedo), but it does look good. The steering wheel doesn't block them all too much. I have a Grant wheel and its smaller then stock. A stock wheel would not block the gauges. Hope that helps.

Well after measuring my gauges and comparing them to Mikes dimensions...the gauges will fit like a glove, I won't even have to enlarge the holes on the overlay.

Now if only Eddie would get off his ass and take some pics of his with the dig camera he just purchased... hint hint!

Hopefully the top view of the gauges won't be too obstructed...i'll keep my fingers crossed.

hahaah...busted.... Oh well I guess when you type 70wpm+ you are gonna make some mistakes. LOL!!

Id really like to see pics of the instaled gauges, They sound like they look good. Also, what do you do with the stock stuff, gut the gauges out of the housing, or pull the whole assembly out?

I looked and can't find the instrument bezel by itself. They have them listed as a dash kit, which is the bezel and dash insert above glove box. The kit was $149.95.

Door panel inserts were $44.95 for the ones without straps, $49.95 with the strap covers.

Go under "dash accessories", it is listed in there...I think it was like $90 if i remember right.
