Removing Hardwater Spots Off Cab Windows....

I was dumb one day and parked my truck next to the lawn and the sprinklers came on and spotted up my windows. I've tried several items to remove them even "limeaway" and they are still there. Now I tried some metal polish buy accident since it was on a cloth I had in my hand when I leaned up against the glass, so when I went to clean it off it seemed to work. I tried it all the whole window but, they are still there. Any ideas?

I'm not sure, but I'd say CLR will work. I know you said you tried Limeaway, but CLR removes well water stains off of stucco. (calcium, lime and rust.)

Its funny you posted this thread, I have spent the better part of the weekend cleaning my windows.

When I bought my truck the whole passenger side had water stains on the glass. I tried many different products with no luck.

I tried, CLR, Acetone, Paint thinner, fine scotch brite, steel wool and last but not least a razor blade and Gas ahahah NO Luck.

I was at my friends the other day and he was cleaning some stainless with "Bar Keepers Friend" and it was working awesome. I asked where he bought it so I could clean up my mirrors and some other random steel.

Its available at Stater Bros, thats where I bought mine. Im pretty sure you can get it at other locations.

I did a little spot on my windshield just for kicks...It Worked !!! Takes some Eldbow Grease but Im already half way done with the passenger side window !! :metal:

Go find some, Its the coolest stuff I have found in awhile ahaha I hit up all my mirrors, my windshield wiper arms, my drip rails on the cab and Im working on my grille now.

Purchased my truck from the 2nd owner who always had it parked outside. It had the worst case of hard water spots on the glass and paint I've ever seen. Started with the glass and used everything out there. White vinegar, CLR, Limeaway, Rain x hard water stain remover, the list goes on. It was like using windex. No results. Web searched and found a product called Spot X. It comes with a non-glass scratching pad and is in powder form. It took some scrubbing but wow the product worked as it said it would and the windows are beautiful, clear and shiny now. What a relief. Now for the paint. After buffing it 3 times with porter cable and no results I'm going to use One Grand Special touch and a cutting pad. I'm excited to get started.

I have used 0000 steel wool and extra cut rubbing compound (3m) on my glass and had good results removing water spots on windshield/back window/ and door windows.

Just don't do this on the side mirrors. The glass is thinner and will show fine scratches.

Some side mirrors are plastic and will scratch (especially on newer vehicles). For sure don't use razor blades on them.

50-50 Vinegar and water. It's what we use getting hard water spots off our Jetski's. Strips wax bu other wise won't hurt anything.

steel wool works wonders with some wax or the vinegar and water mixture
