Eugene is on a different planet, that`s why. (I love that city)

It`s over in the "other" Oregon on I-84 near Baker City.Looks like Boise is the nearest big city(I checked Mapquest). Is that US30 the Lincoln Hiway that runs from Philadelphia?I didn`t realize it ran that far north.

I have driven by North Powder many times and never stopped that I can remember ,,but I can tell you that I see many many old cars and trucks all over the place when traveling by..I know there is one on the out skirts of Baker City headed east that you can easily see from I-84 ..

I-84 replaced highway 30 which goes from the west coast to the east coast ...and around this area of North Powder I bet there are many of our trucks to see in the back yards of this area.. It's dry and almost rust free ..

If you got the time you might do well to go pick up the parts you have there and see what else you can find ..

Sorry frieind,, I looked the mileage up from me to North Powder and it's a bit far for me ..328.58 ..

good luck..all the same ..

That's 202 and change miles from me. North Powder, Or isn't the end of the world but they have a sign pointing to where you can go out and look over the edge.
If there is someone who is making the run from Boise to the Yakima Valley area maybe we could set up a relay Or I could meet them and that would reduce your trip by that much.

Looks like it is going to be one of THOSE road trips...LOL! I can get a 1-ton rental truck from Home Depot. Evidently nobody rents REAL pickups anymore! The best the rental truck and car companies can do is rent you a wheeze-bag 3/4 ton that will only carry 1500 lb! A camper weighs about 2200lb! Enterprise claims 3000-4000 lb load carrying capacity on their website but they had to call me back and admit that was definitely a typo...I wonder if they got it fixed yet?

LOL...the wet side of the state vs. the dry side of the state. Washington is the same. I love the high desert but have always lived on the wet side.
