2006 Silverado Door Lock Switch Removal

Can the Power Lock Switch on the drivers side be removed without popping the door panel off? I tried prying from the rear but only succeeded in cracking the plastic around the edge of the switch. The truck is without power windows?

I know on the ones with power windows you have to remove door panel to remove power lock switch. If i had a picture it would jog my memory.
