Hi Guys I restored my dads 71 cheyenne big block. My dad turns 80 july 4th . We show the truck locally and took it to maggie valley for the nats last year I was wanting to do something special with dad this year and go to a big show but don't know which one to attend, looking at super chevy which we done last year in indy we done a good guys locally last year. Carlisle looks good but its 700 miles from the house. but I was going to take off a week in aug. any way . Give me some input. Thank You I live in southern Indiana so california is out of question.

I`d hit a run like Columbus, too.Honestly,Carlisle trucks is a great event, overall. But,it`s not so strong in the show end.It covers every aspect from minis to big rigs. So,you`ll have a few of each type and not a big group of any one kind. There`s plenty registered, just a real varied field with mostly later baggers and silly chromed up monster truck wannabees.
That`s my take anyway.

The Carlisle events are huge and the August one is trucks only. Check the link http://www.carsatcarlisle.com/ce/eve...uck-nationals/

I saw this truck in MV last year.If you get a chance to see it look it over closely. The trim is beyond belief and the truck is outstanding.I doubt you will find one that has been done like it.

I've always gone to Carlisle for the swap meets, never paid a whole lot of attention to the show portion. It seems to me like the show part wasn't real big, the swap meet area is H U G E!

Carlisle Truck Show swap meet is great, but like others have said, the show corral is not that big. In fact, I've noticed over the last few years less show trucks entered . Also like "special-K" said, "a lot of baggers and silly chromed up monster truck wannabes". I would also like to know why they have those dirt bike stunt riders in a truck show?? Those who have been there, know what I am talking about.
