Any Caddy techs here ?
I have a 89 Caddy Coupe DeVille with a 4.8L V8 and TH440 tranny. The tranny is not engaging any gears. I bought it knowing this because it was fairly cheap. Is there a common problem with this tranny or is it computer controlled and maybe the computer is bad ? There is fluid in the tranny and it doesnt smell fried, It shifts thru the gears no prob but doesnt even flinch. Im thinking of replacing it with a rebuilt or used one but I was hoping to get some more info if possible. The Cadillac forums suck and were no help. Thanks :mm:
