Rear Axle Spec - C10 vs Jimmy

Greetings, and apologies if this has been covered multitudenous times, but I did a search and couldn't find any info. I am building a '68 C10 and just finished my disc brake conversion and power steering conversion. Easy so far. I have found a 12 bolt rearend out of a '72 Jimmy that has an ARB Air Locker in it with 410 gears. Will a '72 Jimmy rear end swap for my current '68 rearend without out a lot of fabrication? Thanks for your help.

if they both ahve the same type of rear supention (leaf on both trucks, or coils on both trucks) then it'll swap right out.

The Jimmy is most likely leaf springs since it is first a GMC and second a 4X4. The C-10 is likely a coil spring truck. If I guessed right, then you will have to cut off the spring perches and weld new trailing arm perchs back on. The shock mount should be the same I think. I think several of the board venders can hook you up with the trailing arm perches.

Getting a air locker would be way worth the effort. Wish I had one.
