Has anyone built thier own solid bed cover,

As im in the uk its very expensive to have one sent over,

stepside454 built a pretty bad ass one a while back.
I have plans made to build one just the same for my '66 stepper, but I havent got around to it yet.

Hey, nice truck, the bed cover looks great, im thinking along the same lines, hinge in the middle lifting at the front and the rear, smooth metal painted body colour,

I built this years back but it ended up being to heavy. I put steel on top and it was 14g....I wanted 16g and the place I picked it up gave me this. Anyway, I welded a frame that fit inside the bed and then added the metal on top. These are the only pics I can find. I would suggest doing it in aluminum if at all possible.
