Decoding Your VIN # Cdn / USA
Is there a difference between decoding a Canadian VIN# as apposed to an American VIN#
I've been searching online and on pg 10 of the LMC catalog Apparently my Serial Identification Number should start with a letter. My VIN # plaque says General Motors of Canada is there a GMC / Chev truck VIN decoder website for Canadian VINs ??? This is the tag to my 57 GMC Panel http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1...IMG_0946-1.jpg |

Looks like a 58 Chevy. The bottom of the page shows the difference between Chevy and GMC.

I'm surprised to see it's a 1958 when the ownership says it's a 1957 I can't find anything on line or in the LMC catalog about 3105 models.. I guess thats exclusive to Panel vans 6 Cyl I just assumed it was originally, cause the steering column was stripped of it column shifter. Now I'm wondering ???? Should my ownership say 1958 ???? Noooo !!! LOL Tkx for your help @ JML55 Your picture reaffirms again that I'm sure this truck is a Chevrolet. Like I said earlier in my thread The only thing GMC about this truck is the Hood. Now finding my VIN# on the driver's side hinge post also helps prove it's a Chev. CHEV FRONT END Except for the Hood http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1...n/IMG_0699.jpg ORIGINAL CHEVY 57 Bow Tie HUB CAPS http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1...n/IMG_0697.jpg CHEV DASH AND Bow Tie STEERING WHEEL http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1...n/IMG_0703.jpg |
