Clean firewall
Hey peeps I come to you with some more ?'s. I wanna take out all my heater and ac stuff out, But what all do I need to do to give the firewall a clean look. I dont like all that clutter on the passenger side motor compartment. I dont care for the heater and ac. If I get cold I'll put an extra jacket on, if I get hot then I'll roll the windows down. Too me it aint a big deal. Some pics would also be great some before and afters. Thanks in advance everybody.

I'm getting to the same point on my 84 GMC. I want to smooth out the firewall. I have removed everything but the brakes and steering column. I will be pulling my engine out soon to install my PB Dropmember and at the same time I will weld up all the holes in my firewall. First picture is mine.
Another idea is to put a cover over the firewall like the aluminum piece in this second picture. |

I made a panel that fits over the heater holes and welded on some studs then I can bolt it inside the cab.Looks flush but if I decide to rut heater back in ,no trouble

Re: Clean firewall
Well thanks to everybody, I got started and jerked everything out and started to make the templates to cover the holes. But now I'm thinking of just putting an aluminum cover over it. hmmmmmm it got to late so i'll post some pics manana, again thanks to everybody you all have been very helpful. keep the pics coming in though. hehehehehehe. I'd also like to get rid of the huge master cylinder, I know I need it but theirs got to be something better or smaller and shiny out their. Anyone got any suggestions?

On my 77 we made filler panels and routed it through the fender.

Re: Clean firewall
I have my wires ruining through the floor board and the head light wires running through the driver side fender http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r...0/IMAG1389.jpg

I shaved my firewall, and the engine compartment wires run underneath the firewall (up in the lip). I made a fuse box cover to hide my wires there, and the headlight harness section runs inside my drivers fender out to the drivers headlight, the remaining passenger headlight section runs underneath the radiator along the bottom of the core support. I also mounted all my ignition stuff (MSD box and coil) on the inside of the firewall, and have a junction right behind the distributor to connect it to the coil (so it appears my distributor plugs into the firewall).
