I need some help choosing headers...help please!
Ok this is what I have and want to do. I have a 2 wheel drive 70 chevy truck that has a manual transmission with a performance 350. I am going to bag the truck so I need a header that is going to clear the clutch linkage and be tucked above the frame since it will be bagged. Does anybody have a option of header for me or anyone that has a truck like this? I would really like to order headers this week to get this thing fired up. Pictures would be great and also part number would also be helpful. I'd hate to order headers and find out they won't work. Full length header would be prefered. I also looked at the headman headers in LMC but not sure if these will work either. Thanks for any reply.

I ran Hooker Super Comps for a while, and they cleared the clutch linkage just fine. Plus they just fit better all over, making them go in and out easy.
Can't tell ya how low the collector is, since my truck is a 4x4 and I wasn't worried about scraping them on the pavement. Maybe check out Doug Thorley's since they have a smaller collector. But Thorley's are pretty spendy! http://www.dougthorleyheaders.com/pr...D2/35/sfID3/33 |
Re: I need some help choosing headers...help please!
I have some cheapy flowtech headers and the collector runs under the bellhousing crossmember, they fit well and don't interfere with my clutch linkage. I think these would be too low for laying frame. From what I've seen of the full length headers they all run this way, so you might be stuck with shortys or block huggers (not sure how these fit with steering/clutch). Good luck, maybe some of the bagged guys will let you know what they're running.
