How to ID a rear-drive?????
 

How does a person find out what size a rear-end they just aquired if its already out of the vehicle???

68GMC SWB Gound-up restoration,350/700R4/342.... 2002 3/4 HD for a daily driver. Can't get away from the GMs

gotta tell us how many bolts are on the cover and how many wheelstuds it has, 5,6, or 8,
and if its got 10 bolts on the cover then is cover round, oval or real irregular ?
